The Arizona Cardinals as a team are very excited about their recent draft class. The hope is they can be much more impactful as a group than last year’s class, which played very little in 2016.

In fact, team president Michael Bidwill is bullish about this year’s draft picks. He spoke very highly about them in a recent Q&A in London on Periscope.

He said both linebacker Haason Reddick, drafted in the first round, and receiver Chad Williams, drafted in the third round, “look like the real deal.”

Although he hasn’t had the chance to see safety Budda Baker yet because he was still in school, he couldn’t say much, though Bidwill did say he believes Baker will be an impact player.

Then he spoke of running back T.J. Logan, drafted in the fifth round.

“Man, this guy’s got a high gear,” he said. “He looks very, very speedy. The coaches have got a couple of plays just for him. This guy can smoke it down the field. He might be faster than Smoke (receiver John Brown).”

Training camp is still weeks away and the regular season is still months away, but when the owner is already excited about the young players, it is hard not to also get excited to see them.

Getting a couple of “real deal” rookies will go a long way to keeping the Cardinals competitive even after their aging stars like Carson Palmer, Larry Fitzgerald and Karlos Dansby are done with their careers.
