Connor Shaw proved why he has been able to stick around in the NFL.
Connor Shaw‘s tenure with the Chicago Bears has been interesting to say the least.
After performing well at the start of training camp and the preseason last year, Shaw broke his leg in the third preseason game, ending his season. He worked hard in rehab to prepare himself for 2017 and was awarded with a one-year contract this offseason.
The Bears then added three new quarterbacks to the roster in Mike Glennon, Mitchell Trubisky and Mark Sanchez and Shaw was eventually released during OTAs. On the day Shaw was officially released, Sanchez injured his knee and the Bears scrambled to sign Shaw back to the roster.
It is going to be difficult for Shaw to to make the final 53-man roster, but he offered up some advice on the Rich Take on Sports podcast:
Words of wisdom from @cmshaw14!
Easy to see why he's a @GamecockFB favorite.

Shaw spoke about his release and re-signing with the organization and said he will never look to far into the future as he worries about the here and the now. He also is not worrying about what his place on the roster will be because he will be satisfied giving 100 percent.
“I’m going to be the dude who goes out there and gives it my all and the rest will take care of itself,” he said in the podcast.
In addition to talking his about his current status with the Bears, Shaw also talked about his admiration for Brett Favre and Drew Brees, playing for his father in high school and about his connection with former Bears quarterback Josh McCown.
